I started working with Gina years ago, meeting her in her studio. With Covid, I was able to transition to workouts via Zoom. Gina is amazing! She has so much knowledge about the body and knows so many different techniques. We’d work on everything but my biggest area of improvement was with balance! I have a form of Muscular Dystrophy called CMT – Charcot Marie Tooth. She introduced me to various exercises and little by little my balance improved greatly! I can fit these exercises into my every day life and it makes a huge difference! The other night- I went dancing for the first time in years! – Lisa
By Gina Marecki
My name is Gina Marecki and I’m a personal trainer, author and owner of G Fitness studio in Simsbury, Connecticut. I pursued my passion for fitness by becoming a Certified Personal Trainer and Women’s Fitness Specialist in 2012. I earned a NASM certified personal trainer certification and continued my education in how movement heals the body and mind. After four years at my in home studio, I expanded my business and opened G Fitness studio in Simsbury, Connecticut where I added small group Barre, Pilates and strength classes, nutrition coaching and corporate wellness for female-based companies. I earned a bachelor’s degree in business at Boston College and lived in Boston for several years, working at John Hancock in marketing as an event planner. There I met my husband, Vaughan, and moved to Connecticut to raise our family.
I found healing through exercise and writing when faced with depression and anxiety. I conquered my battle with depression, anxiety, and haunting triggers as a result of childhood sexual abuse and young-adult domestic abuse by adding journaling, writing, high-intensity training, weight lifting, Barre and Muay Thai kickboxing to my arsenal.
The positive change in my mood and my entire life motivated me to become a personal trainer to help women see their full potential. I’m drawn to women that face obstacles that are holding them back from moving better and feeling their best. My mission is to help boost women’s confidence, strength and resilience. My clients include regular fitness enthusiasts, athletes and those who have suffered past injuries, depression, trauma, autoimmune diseases, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy and cancer. I use my kickboxing experience to help women feel empowered and my marketing background helped me to promote and grow my business.
I found healing through writing. I journaled and creative fictional stories, always dreaming of sharing my work of fiction. I kept my writing to myself until I bravely joined a writer’s workshop in 2018 to share my story and see if writing was something I should pursue. I’ve currently published two books and my next book is coming soon. I share my journey from victim to victor through poetry and fiction, bringing in real-life experiences through my stories.
I love fitness, writing, cooking, painting, and spending time with my family. I am a female business owner, a wife, a mother of three grown children, and have two cats.
