Last Saturday I participated in a 5 hour Vision Board session at Lost Acres Vineyard in Granby, hosted by Kristal Fiorentino from The Om Within. It was a very powerful experience. Having twenty women gathered together to discuss their current challenges and dreams for the future is rather amazing. Empowering really. You walk out feeling as though you made 19 new friends.
We did some sharing, some yoga, some visualization; then we spent hours working on our vision board. Yes, it takes hours to create the right vision board and the time goes by so quickly! What you go in thinking your board will look like is rarely how it ends up. Partly from the visualization work and partly because of the words and pictures you are drawn to from the magazines that are available. All vision boards are different; each unique with its own message. One of the most powerful moments in the workshop is when each of us share the reason we selected what we did for our board and why it is arranged the way it is. Some people are very organized, others are more whimsical. All are unique and wonderful.
Kristal Fiorent, the facilitator, leads the session with honesty and humor, and that was before any wine was shared! This particular session is held at Lost Acres winery. There is nice spread with free food, and yes, wine is available to purchase during the vision board creation process. Lost Acres is a welcoming locale out in nature with a fireplace and beautiful artwork on display to purchase. It is cozy and it welcomes creativity.

She offers chanting sessions, a monthly book club, yoga classes, vision boarding and one on one sessions to address chronic issues. I have worked with her for years and have had many “AH HA” moments. And no, I don’t mean “HA HA” moments, although we have had many of those too!
The vision board is just the beginning. The actual work begins afterwards, putting plans in place to overcome obstacles and reach for your goals.
